MINERAL WELLS —
Victoria E. “Vickie” Nicks, 64, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at her home on Possum Kingdom Lake. Service is 4 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at the Community Church of PK Lake with Foy Layton, pastor, and Tommy Pophin, chaplain of Integra Care Hospice, officiating. Vickie will lie in state at the Community Church beginning at noon on Thursday until service time. Burial will follow in McAdams Cemetery at Possum Kingdom Lake under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Vicki was born May 8, 1945, in Clinton, Okla., to Sye Ernest and Chloe Clemtine (Hooley) Lane. She had been involved in the music business as a musician and songwriter since 1975. Vicki owned her own booking agency for musicians. She had been a resident of PK Lake since 1986. Vicki married Joe Allen Nicks on Aug. 15, 1990 in Summerville, S.C. He preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 2004. Vicki was a home health care nurse employed by Girling Home Health Care.
Survivors include daughter, Jamie Burden, of Clinton, Okla.; sons, Richard Kuczajda of Mt. Home, Idaho, and Anthony Burden of Nashville, Tenn.; sisters, Yvonne Conner, of Moore, Okla., Annette Wilson, of Burns Flat, Okla., Lana Faye Scott, of New Orleans, La., and Nelda Bishop of Sayre, Okla.; brothers, Clyde Lane of Elk City, Okla., and Danny Lane of Chickasha, Okla.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
