Ima M. Courtney, 87, passed away March 5, 2013, at her home in Perrin. She was born November 5, 1925, in Parker County the daughter of Walter and Grace Graves Spurgeon.
She married Clarence R. Courtney on March 23, 1951 in Mineral Wells. She was the manager of the cafeteria of Lamar Elementary School for 10 years until she retired. She was a member of the former Oak Ridge Baptist Church. She loved the outdoors, her home in the country and loved animals.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Rock Creek Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
She is survived by: her daughter, Clareece Courtney of Mineral Wells; brother and sister-in-law, C. L. and Mary Spurgeon of Mineral Wells; nieces, Linda Payne and Theresa Hawkins; nephew, Max Spurgeon; many special cousins and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband on April 2, 1985.
