Shiflet family appreciates care, support

Dear Editor,

The family of R.B. (Robert) Shiflet would like to express our deepest thanks and gratitude to the entire staff at Lakewell House. From the day our dad moved in, you embraced him and us as a part of your “family.” We can never have the right words to tell you how very much we appreciate every one of you.

We also want to express our thanks for the Integracare Home Health, Hospice and Continuous Care for all that you did for our dad as he dealt with various health issues. We knew that he was not “just another patient.” Special thanks to the “Angels of Mercy” who were with him 24/7 for the last days of his life.

Thank you, also, for the wonderful care and compassion of the staff at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home.

Finally, thank you to all of those who called, sent cards, flowers or food, or said so many amazing things about uur dad. God bless each of you as He has blessed us.

Vera and Richard Stilwell, Robert and Estha Shiflet and Randy Shiflet

Kudos to business for customer service

Dear Editor,

I have used the same business here in town for well over 20 years. The business was a father and son operation until the father passed away. The father truly believed in performing excellent

customer service.

Now there is not so much. Recently I was in the business for a repair. The owner (son) was gone to lunch. I spoke with a male employee who was going to help me when another male approached us. He informed me that a mechanic would need to do the repair. I said OK, may I speak with the owner? The employee was rude and arrogant. He pulled out his phone and called the owner. I asked to speak to the owner again and he informed me that was his phone, it did not belong to the business.

When the owner did arrive his attitude was not any better. He told me I would need to come back when a mechanic would be there. After an exchange I left because I was concerned and shocked on how I was treated.

I then went to the same kind of business and was met with amazing customer service and concern for my needs. They told me they could fix the problem. What a “real deal” it was. It took about 30 minutes to get the parts and complete the repair.

Thank you, Mike, and the other guys at Real Deal Tires who were there for me that day. I will be back to see you all in the future. Customer service is a good thing, whether you are an old or new customer.

Sincerely,

Lori Skipper, Mineral Wells
