MINGUS – Evelyn Kaye Wylie, 68, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, after a long battle with cancer.
Service was 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at First United Methodist Church in Gordon. Interment followed in the Doty Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn.
Kaye was born Sept. 13, 1944, to Leroy and Evelyn (Carter) Reasoner. She graduated from Gordon High School and attended business college. She married Buck Wylie in May of 1977 and stood faithfully by his side until he died Sept. 17, 1995.
She worked for Ellison Carter Cattle Company as bookkeeper and office manager. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Gordon, Gordon EMS, Gordon City Council, Lion’s Club and was on the board of the Doty Cemetery.
She is survived by her mother, Susan Wylie; one son, Thomas Wylie and his wife, Susan; one daughter, Wendy Wylie; one brother, Robert Reasoner and his wife, Kay; two grandchildren, Bailey Davison and Conner Jase Wylie. She also leaves behind her loving pets, Lady Bug and Dzus.
The family requests memorials be made to Tri-City Ambulance.
