Shirley Milliken, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, in an Abilene, Texas, hospital.

Service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. David Harp officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home.

Shirley was born Aug. 7, 1927, to Willie and Mary Jane Thomas Knight in Mineral Wells. She graduated from Mineral Wells High School. She married Corbett Milliken on her birthday in 1948. They made their home in Mineral Wells for 50 years. She was a homemaker and worked at the Brazos River Gas Company for 14 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she taught primary children for 50 years.

She is survived by her son, Mike Milliken; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Ginny Milliken, of Mineral Wells; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Richard Walker, of Abilene; sister, Frances Knight, of Mineral Wells; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers.
