Myron E. Thompson, 44, died Oct. 3, 2012, in a Fort Worth hospital.
Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Roy Baker officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church. Viewing hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday; and 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home at the family’s request. There will not be a graveside service.
He was born May 3, 1968, in Mineral Wells the son of Wallace and Margaret M. White Thompson. He married Charlotte Marino in 2009 in Parker County. During his early years he was a true athlete and learned the true meaning of teamwork. He had a very competitive nature in everything he did. He always tried to outdo others but at the same time help them to be their best. He was never one of the biggest players on the football field but always played like he was. He went through some troubled times in his life that helped transform him. He would be the first to tell you he wasn’t perfect.
Myron Thompson left a legacy of what a true man of God is all about. He was a faithful and genuine man of God who never wavered. Although he was a hard worker who was dedicated to his job and loved those he worked with, he would tell you his ministry came first. God was the most important thing in his life and it showed to all those he came in contact with. His main goal in life was to live in such a way that others could see God through him and come to know God so they, too, could have that same peace, joy, love and hope he had.
He always had that beautiful smile on his face and took time to pray for anyone who had a need. He will be greatly missed but we can rest in the assurance that Myron made it to his new home in Heaven and is doing what he does best, worshipping and praising his God.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Thompson; stepson, Matthew Harp; mother, Margaret M. White Thompson; brothers, Michael White and Christopher Thompson; sisters, Mae White, April Small and Mattie Thompson Doss; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; and his sister, Kimberly A. Thompson Barnes.
