Jerry Bernice Holmes, 77, died Oct. 28, 2012, at her home in Mineral Wells.
The family will have a memorial service at Southside Church of Christ.
She was born Oct. 1, 1935, in East Fork, La., the daughter of Wallace and Willie Georgia Rhodes Hodges. She married Dean Holmes Sr. on June 23, 1956, in Stoney Point, La. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ, was an Eastern Star, a Brownies leader and was president of the Business Professional Women. She retired as a caseworker for the state of Missouri.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Holmes Sr., of Mineral Wells; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Coade, of Mineral Wells, Wanda and Lane Voelcker, of Mineral Wells, and Debora and James Caudill, of Florida; son and daughter-in-law, Dean Jr. and Julie Holmes, of Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elane Phillips, of Mississippi, and Donnis Getter, of La.; brothers, Denson Holmes, of Louisiana, and Gene Hodges, of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Richard Hodges.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society for Ovarian Cancer in her memory.
