Elsie Winona Martin (Mawmaw), 90, of Mineral Wells, passed away March 19, 2013. Winona was born in Sulphur Springs, Sept. 24, 1922, to Hubbard and Addie Walker. She married Eual Martin in Commerce, Dec. 2, 1948. They moved to Mineral Wells from Fort Worth in 1961. Winona worked at Hilley’s Drugstore, Edo-Aire Mitchell and then retired from Philips (Mepco) in 1993. She was a longtime member of Westside Baptist Church. Winona was preceded in death by her husband and one infant son. Winona is survived by two sons: Russell Dean and Kenneth Martin; daughter-in-law Valerie Dorr-Martin; grandaughters Megan Hudson, her husband Willy, and Michelle Martin-Slemmons, her husband Kevin; great-grandchildren Selek, Slade, Stelei and Stockton; several nieces and nephews; and numerous loving friends. Winona was a loving mother and grandmother and was dedicated to her family and to our Lord. Services will be held at Coker-Matthews Funeral Home in Greenville Friday, March 22, at 2 pm. Burial to follow at Shilo Cemetery in Klondike, Texas.
