Melinda Elaine Slay Zamora, 38, of Graford, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, in Mineral Wells. Honorary Firefighter Funeral Services will be Thursday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. at Abundant Life Church in Graford. Graveside service is at McAdams Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home.
Melinda was born in Mineral Wells on Sept. 9, 1974, the daughter of Tommy and Margaret Walker Slay. She attended Mineral Wells High School. She married Hector Zamora Jr. on Aug. 12, 2000, in Mineral Wells.
She was active in her community serving as a Graford Volunteer Firefighter.
She is survived by her husband; five children: T.J Zamora, Tyson Zamora, Christopher Zamora, Daniel Zamora, and Rachel Zamora; her father, Tommy Slay; one brother, Michael Slay; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Hector Zamora Sr. and Eva Zamora; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Walker Slay, and one uncle, J.K. Slay.
