Gervase Gene (Monty) Montgomery

Mineral Wells Index

Gervase Gene (Monty) Montgomery was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Barton Chapel (Jacksboro, Texas) to the late Bernard and Edna Montgomery.

He attended school in Jacksboro, Bryson and Graham. After graduating high school in 1948 he joined the United States Air Force where he served in the Korean Conflict. He and his wife, Ora Lee, were married on April 16, 1953, in Graham, and moved to Mineral Wells with their children in 1972 when he retired after 24 dutiful years of service.

His survivors include his wife, Ora Lee Montgomery; son Bob Montgomery and his wife, Tina; son Ernie Montgomery; and daughter Penny Maslyk and her husband, Steve; three siblings: Bill and Gary Montgomery and Wilma Powell; 12 grandchildren,  8 great-grandchildren, and a host of loved ones.
