Luther Staley Lollar, 89, died Nov. 16, 2012, in a Mineral Wells nursing home.
Graveside service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Staggs Prairie Cemetery.
He was born May 18, 1923, in Sparta, Tenn., the son of Luther H. and Martha Green Lollar. He married Gladys Kurtz on Dec. 27, 1952, in Williamsport, Pa. He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army and the Marines, having served in World War II and in Vietnam twice. He was a highly decorated officer. He was a longtime resident of Mineral Wells and retired from the military at Fort Wolters.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Larry Crittenden, of Mineral Wells; son, Michael Lollar; grandsons, Justin and Matthew; granddaughters, Mitzi and April; and numerous other family in Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Gladys Lollar, on Dec. 18, 1993.
