Erjuana Sidonia Pruitt

Erjuana Sidonia Pruitt passed from this life at her home, Red Bud Assisted Living Center, Perkins, OK, on Wednesday morning, Jan. 16, 2013, at the age of 85 after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at the Perry Church of Christ, Perry, OK, on Friday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. with interment in Jermyn, TX, on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Graceland Cemetery.

Erjuana was born May 8, 1927, to Leonard Preston and Winnie Davis (Giesecke) Lambert in Breckenridge, TX, and was the second of six children. Her younger brother, Leonard Jr. was killed at 18 in World War II and two of her younger sisters died in childhood.

She is survived by her husband, Harry, of the home; a daughter, Amelia, and her husband, Cliff Lyle, of Edmond; a son, Harry Escle Jr., of Pasadena, CA; two beloved grandchildren, Robert Lyle, Oklahoma City, OK, Abbey Lyle, a senior at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK; a sister, Jane Enloe, of Vernon, TX; a brother, Russell Lambert, Bella Vista, AK; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Erjuana graduated from Valley View High School, Kamay, TX, and then attended West Texas State University, Canyon, TX. She loved her occupation as a bookkeeper and worked for several insurance and oil companies throughout her lifetime.

She met Harry Pruitt in Wichita Falls, TX, and they were married Oct. 2, 1948. Throughout their 64 years of married life they lived in Kamay, TX, Frederick, OK, Mineral Wells, TX, Perry, OK, and as of last October, at the Red Bud Assisted Living Center, Perkins, OK.  Erjuana loved to read, cook, crochet, quilt, play dominoes and card games, and spend time with her friends and family, especially her two grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She will be dearly missed, but the life lessons she taught us and her optimistic attitude and the sweet memories will always be with us.

Officiants are Gene Owens and Gerald Stewart under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Companion Hospice c/o Palmer Marler Funeral Home, 203 E. Fir, Perry, OK, 73077. Friends may leave condolences for the family via an online guestbook at perrycares.com.
