On Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, Charles Henry "Charlie" Glidewell lost his harrowing battle with cancer. Charlie was born Oct. 11, 1949, to Willis "Bill" Lee and Modene Katherine Moore Glidewell, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Debra Ann Glidewell and Bobbie Jo Glidewell Cobb; daughter, Jennifer Laurie Glidewell McCarty, and grandson, Zachary Aaron Kertok.
A lifelong resident of Mineral Wells, Charlie is survived by a brother, Donald Glidewell and wife Carol of Mineral Wells; brother, Billy Dean Glidewell and wife Linda of Hico; daughter, Anna Glidewell Kertok and husband, Joel; son, John Wayne Glidewell and wife, Geneva, both of Mineral Wells; and daughter, Karen Hayden and husband Erik of Wimberely. Grandchildren are David Lee Cason, Emily Anne Boetz, Sarah Katherine Boetz, Brent Douglas McCarty, Samuel Jacob Kertok, Benjamin Hamilton Kertok, Jedidiah Abraham Kertok, Amberleigh Kae Glidewell, Memphis Wayne Glidewell, Owen Hayden and Dylan Hayden, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
The family wishes to thank Lori "Strong like bull" Dyess from IntegraCare and best buddies Michael and Sarrah Edmondson for all of their special care and support.
Service is to be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Fairview Baptist Church.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Fairview Baptist Church.
