Mae Josephine Swartz

Mineral Wells Index

Mae Josephine Swartz, 93, passed away Jan. 1, 2013, at her home in Cool, Texas. She was born Sept. 8, 1919, in Monroe, Wis., the daughter of Harry and Bertha Pearl (Benage) Swartz; the last in a family of eight children.

She was a registered nurse for many years practicing mostly in Colorado. At one time she was the Mayor of Fairplay, Colo. In later years she lived in Tucson, Ariz., and then in Las Cruces, N.M.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and six sisters. She is survived by her niece: Virginia Sanderson and husband Wayne of Cool, other nieces and nephews and their children and many friends.
