Norman Otto Stroup, 82, died Oct. 29, 2012, in a Fort Worth hospital.
Service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 9, 1929, in Ellington, Mo., the son of Jess and Gladys Burns Stroup. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War. He was a cross guard at Lamar Elementary.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Doris Stroup, of Garner; sisters and brother-in-law, Louise Bushart, of St. Louis, Mo., and Mary Lou and Johnny McNail, of Centerville, Mo.; brother, Charles Edward Stroup, of Mo.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lulu Mae Stroup; longtime friend, Margie Oliver, of Mineral Wells; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Norman Stroup Jr.; and two brothers.
