Leonard Wayne “Pat” Patterson

Leonard Wayne “Pat” Patterson, 76, died Oct. 16, 2012, in a Fort Worth hospital.

Service is 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1413 S.E. 16th St., Mineral Wells, TX 76067, with Rev. David Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow at Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park, 7301 E. Lancaster, Fort Worth, TX 76112. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home, 302 W. Hubbard St., Mineral Wells, TX 76067.

He was born Oct. 9, 1936, in Merkel, Texas, the son of Lockford Alvin and Ozella Mae Wetzel Patterson. He married JoAnn Cole on Jan. 21, 1955, in Odessa, Texas. He married Modenia Davis Goree on March 12, 1999, in Mineral Wells. He had lived in Mineral Wells since 1999 and in Euless, Texas, prior to that. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Mineral Wells Evening Lions Club, Mineral Wells Crazy Campers, Sons of the Revolution and Sons of the Confederacy. His family has been traced all the way to the Mayflower.

He is survived by his wife, Modenia Patterson, of Mineral Wells; children, Tanya Ann Patterson Kessinger and husband, Terry David, of Mount Pleasant, Tenn., Toni Rene Patterson Smith, of Linden, Tenn., and David Patterson, of Round Rock, Texas; grandchildren, Melody Lynn Kessinger Allen and husband, Terrance, of Clarkesville, Tenn., Michelle Lee Kessinger, of Clarksville, Tenn., Karrie Smith, of Columbia, Tenn., Matthew Smith and wife, Megan, of Columbia, Tenn., Tiffany Patterson Cuellar and husband, Robert, of Fort Worth, David Lee Patterson, of Round Rock, Brandon Wayne Patterson and wife, Vivian, of Fort Worth, Stephen Anthony Patterson, of Fort Worth, and Phillip Alfred Patterson and wife, Cecily, of Round Rock; stepson, David Goree and wife, Jerri, of Fort Worth; step-daughter, Brenda Callahan and husband, Bryan, of Acton, Texas; five step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; sister, Jonelle Patterson Richardson and husband, Virgil, of Fort Worth; brother, Donald Seborn Patterson and wife, Jean, of Abilene, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Willie Lee Patterson; and son-in-law, Michael Smith.
