William Donald Lionberger, 81, died Oct. 20, 2012, in a Mineral Wells hospital.
Service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Garner Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Kuykendall officiating. Burial will follow in Oran Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
He was born April 28, 1931, in Lincoln, Neb., the son of George Joseph and Grace B. McFann Lionberger. He married Marilyn Fones on Nov. 10, 1952, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was a longtime resident of the Mineral Wells and Weatherford areas. He was retired from the U.S. Army. He worked for Southern Airways as an instructor pilot. He worked for Exxon flying offshore oil in the coast.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn “Micky” Lionberger, of Garner; sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Maudie Lionberger, of Garner, Jim and Joyce Lionberger, of Hermleigh; grandchildren, Misty Stekoll, Crissy Orton, Christi VanRite, Justin Head, Angie Smith and Shelia Lane; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, James Ralph Lionberger, of Mineral Wells, and Obe Leon and Betty Lionberger, of Garner; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and one sister.
