Annual Poe Prairie Cemetery meeting on the summer calendar

By Sharron Hudson | millsapnews@mineralwellsindex.com

MILLSAP – With the first official day of summer being June 20, all kinds of warm weather activities for young and old alike are in the works among various area organizations. Many have their calendars marked for the Poe Prairie Cemetery annual meeting.

Invitations have come through the mail for this event which will take place July 21 at 6 p.m. at the cemetery. A short business meeting will start the festivities followed by ice cream, cake and other treats. There will be plenty of reminiscing as pictures from days gone past in the Poe Prairie Community will be on display. The activities will be finished with gospel singing until dark. Musicians are welcome and everyone is asked to bring their chair, come and enjoy this tradition.

Our high school varsity cheerleaders are preparing to host the Component Solutions Bulldog Golf Tournament on June 23 with the location being Sugar Tree Golf Club at Lipan. The fee is $100 per player, with carts and lunch provided. Mulligans are $10 each and there will be awards for first through third place teams. For more info call Summer at (817) 304-9294 or Tara at (817) 597-6359. This is sure to be a fun experience for golfers while supporting a school team.
