Lady Rams' Sydney Shelstead named 6-3A co-MVP; Kennedy Shelstead voted top newcomer

Rams' Clardy also earns newcomer award in District 6-3A hoops

Mineral Wells Lady Rams senior post Sydney Shelstead earned District 6-3A's co-Most Valuable Player award along with Kennedale's Autmmn Williams, and Lady Rams sophomore Kennedy Shelstead was voted as Newcomer of the year in a vote of 6-3A basketball coaches.

Also, Mineral Wells Rams sophomore point guard Biren Clardy was selected as Newcomer of the year on the boys' side, while Rams senior Kevin Gregory was selected as one of six Bobby Miller Award winners, a district award given for character and sportsmanship.

In addition to the Shelstead sisters, Lady Rams earning all-district, first-team honors were Niya Benavides and Natalie Ragland.

Rams earning first-team honos along with clardy include DaShawn Hicks and Ricky Scott.

Lady Rams earning spots on the second team include junior guards Bethany Allen and Courtney Pena, with Pam Hopkins receiving an hoorable mention.

Rams earning spots on the second team include seniors A.J. Williams and Ty Ashely.
