WHITE SETTLEMENT – Mineral Wells Lady Rams pitchers Allie Stephens, Hope Patterson and Kelsey Keeton combined for a 4-2 record last weekend at the Brewer tournament.
The Lady Rams defeated Nolan Catholic, 7-0, to win consolation in the “gold” bracket,” with Keeton getting the complete-game win in the consolation final.
The Lady Rams also defeated Arlington, Western Hills and Fort Worth Christian, while falling to Brewer and Joshua.
“We had the Joshua game,” Lady Rams head coach David Tarver said, “until we committed three errors with two outs in the fifth inning.”
Reagan Patterson swatted two home runs in the tournament while going 7-for-18 at the plate with seven runs scored and six runs batted in.
Hope Patterson led the team with nine hits in 17 at bats which included a homer and 10 RBI. She also crossed the plate six times.
Bethany Allen and Chandler Ortiz each recorded seven hits. Allen scored eight runs and drove in three, while Ortiz scored 10 runs and had five RBI.
Stephens had five hits and five RBI, while Keeton registered five hits with three RBI.
The Lady Rams continue non-district play at 7 p.m. at home today against Stephenville. MWHS will play at the Wichita Falls tournament this weekend.
