Despite a heavy mist to begin the practice game and heavier rains that came later, it was a successful preseason home opener for the Texas Bullets, a Texas United Football League team which moved to Mineral Wells this year after a five-year stay in Weatherford.

The Bullets fell to the defending TUFL champion North Texas Longhorns.

Local players Scott Aaron, Ismael Valley, Daniel Gray, Terrance Lawson, Johathan Mendez, Eddie Davila, Jose Gutierrez and Colton Taylor are members of the Bullets.

Running back Mike Armstead scored the first Bullets touchdown since the team relocated to Mineral Wells.

The Bullets will play their season opener on Saturday, Feb. 23, at Gainesville against the Cook County Outlaws.

The Bullets regular season home opener is Saturday, March 9 against the Denton County Rhinos.
