The Mineral Wells Lady Rams junior varsity girls scored the first 11 points on their way to a 67-8 victory over Castleberry Tuesday in a District 6-3A game at the MWHS gym.
The win keeps the Lady Rams alone in first place with a 6-0 district record.
Kera Harrison led the Lady Rams with 11 points, with Kaleigh Aaron and Addi Singleton each adding 10.
Also scoring for the Lady Rams were Carson Couger and Mason Malone, each with eight points, Rachel Merritt with seven, Scarlett Eaton with five, Bre Hinojos with four, and Grace Baeza and Tabi Santibanez, each with two.
The Lady Rams led 11-0 after the first quarter and 27-4 at the half. MWHS went on an 18-2 run in the third period to take a 45-6 lead into the fourth quarter.
Rams JV evens 6-3A mark
Holding Castleberry to single digits in three quarters, the Mineral Wells Rams junior varsity soundly defeated Castleberry, 55-26, Tuesday night at the MWHS gym in a District 6-3A contest.
The win evens the Rams’ district mark at 2-2.
Devon Edmond scored nine points to lead the Rams, with Coy Barrick adding eight.
Also scoring for the Rams were Maceo Williams and Mark Glover, each with six, Brayden Hamilton with five, Dalton Mitchell, Braxton Allen and Justin Hendrickson, each with four, and Tanner Newsom with two.
Lady Rams frosh win
Maddie Pappas scored 13 points to lead the Mineral Wells Lady Rams freshman team to a 42-13 win over Castleberry in a District 6-3A game at the MWHS gym.
The win elevates the Lady Rams’ district mark to 4-1.
Also scoring for the Lady Rams were Katie Rivera with eight points, Kenzie Huseman with seven, Brooke Hale with six, Katlin Norton with four, and Elyssa Ogletree and Brailey Garcia, each with two.
Rams freshmen slip past Lions, 57-54
Marvin Johnson scored a season-high 25 points to lead the Mineral Wells Rams freshman team to a 57-54 victory over Castleberry Tuesday in a District 6-3A contest at the MWHS gym.
The win raises the Rams’ 6-3A record to 3-1.
Also scoring for the Rams were Nigel Benavides with eight points, Alec Ortiz with seven, Tristan Seargeant with six, Branson Sanchez with five, Aaron Cedillo with three, Connor Jacobson with two and Z Beard with one.
The Rams led 16-7 after the first quarter and 29-25 at the break. MWHS outscored Castleberry 13-11 in the third period to take a 42-36 lead into the fourth quarter.
