CISCO – Senior post Sydney Shelstead scored 17 points, senior wing Niya Benavides recorded 14 and sophomore wing Kennedy Shelstead added seven to lead the Mineral Wells Lady Rams to a 55-44 victory over Class 2A state-ranked No. 8 Cisco here Tuesday night.
The win raises the Lady Rams’ record to 6-4.
“We defeated a solid team,” Lady Rams head coach Ed Shelstead said. “We played well as a team (Tuesday).
“We are continuing to grow as a team. (Junior guard) Courtney (Peña) has really been a spark for us lately, and the girls as a whole seem to be coming together. I feel chemistry is beginning to develop.”
The Lady Rams will play next at 5 p.m. today against Meridian at the Glen Rose tournament.
