Football season nears

MWHS staff prepares for 2012 season; practices begin in eight days

In just eight days, the Mineral Wells Rams will take to the practice field in preparation for the 2012 season.

It will be the fourth season under head coach Chuck Lawrence, who has guided the Rams to consecutive playoff appearances, including a district title in 2010.

Lawrence and other Texas high school coaches will have new rules to deal with what will dictate practice schedules. Gone are the traditional “two-a-day” practice sessions, although teams can still schedule twice daily workouts every other day.
