The Mineral Wells Junior High School Lady Panthers' eighth grade A and B teams turned in solid outings Dec. 11 en route to nailing down a pair of nail-biting wins over the Brewer Lady Bears.
Courtney Flanagan pushed in a shot at the buzzer to left the MWJHS A team to a 30-29 victory.
Other Lady Rams contributing in the win were Bee Bee Allen, Taylor Wharton, Ashlyn Robinson, Megan Powell and Courtney Pena.
Ashley Rogers scored eight points and Kristen Marr added six more and led the B team to a 32-27 victory.
Cierra Turk, Rae Anne Rivera, Tara Cooper, Emily Scott, Sydney Vasquez and Chelsea Bailey also scored in the game.
Turk and Rivera each chalked up four points in the contest. Cooper and Scott tallied three each.
Marr also notched six steals, eight rebounds and four blocked shots.
Mineral Wells is scheduled to return to basketball action on Jan. 21 when they face Granbury Middle School.
