PERRIN – It hasn’t happened often of late, but at home Friday night in a non-district contest the Perrin Pirates won their season opener with a smash-mouth 18-13 victory over Meridian.
“What a great way to start the season,” Pirates coach Brad Hutton said. “I can’t recall the last time we won the season opener.
“It is an awesome feeling. This is what high school football is all about. We had a great crowd, and the atmosphere was outstanding.”
Also, Millsap and Community Christian School fell in their respective openers.
