BOWIE – Mineral Wells senior pitcher Hunter McCoy threw a three-hitter and drove in a pair of runs to lead the Rams to a 10-2 victory over Bowie here Monday night in the baseball season opener.
The game was originally scheduled to be played at Pratt Field in Mineral Wells, but heavy weekend rains soaked the outfield grass, leaving it unplayable on Monday.
Bowie’s field was in better shape, so a decision was made late Monday morning to change the venue.
McCoy allowed two runs with two walks and three strikeouts in five innings to earn the win.
