Santo girls upend Aquilla
AQUILLA – Breley Seay, Becca Jones, Lyndi Jo Trammell and Shanna Stevens all pumped in six points Friday and led the Santo Lady 'Cats to a 36-26 win over the Aquilla Lady Cougars in non-district basketball action.
With the win, the Santo Lady Cats evened their season record at 1-1 heading into this weekend's Hico Invitational tounament.
Santo jumped on Aquilla early in the contest. The Lady 'Cats outscored the Lady Cougars by a 10-5 clip in the first eight minutes and never looked back.
Santo outpointed Aquilla in each of the next three periods.
In addition to six points from Seay, Jones, Trammell and Stevens. the Lady Cats also picked up solid efforts from several other players, including Bailey Roberson.
Roberson tallied four points in the win. Brooke Rice, Sarah Van Remmen and Erica Velasquez all chipped in two.
