The Perrin-Whitt Pirates will be among two area football teams still alive heading into the second week of high school football playoff action.
Perrin-Whitt will make its playoff debut this Friday evening when they face Muenster in an area playoff showdown. The Pirates, 5-4 overall, drew a bye in the first round.
The Pirates are in the post-season for the second consecutive year.
Muenster, 8-3, rolls into the contest fresh off a 46-28 win over Wolfe City on Friday in the bi-district round.
Perrin-Whitt’s playoff game is slated for 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening at Porcupine Stadium in Springtown.
The Strawn Greyhounds will also be in action Friday. The defending six-man state champions will face off against Irving Universal Academy in Covington on Friday.
Strawn enters the game with a 10-1 record after Friday’s 76-28 win over Rochelle. Universal Academy is 6-3, and drew a bye in the first round.
The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
