Just three weeks into district play, and the Strawn Greyhounds are on the verge of accomplishing one of their goals: claiming a playoff berth.
Strawn ranked No. 2 in the latest sixmanfootball.com poll, can clinch at least the runner-up playoff berth tonight with a win over the Blanket Tigers. A win would give Strawn a one-game lead in the District 10 standings with just two weeks left in the regular season.
The Greyhounds head into the game as one of the state's most dominant programs. Strawn is averaging more than 50 points per game since opening the season with a loss to Valley.
The Mineral Wells Community Christian Warriors garnered a playoff berth this week without even breaking a sweat. The Warriors clinched at least fourth in the TCAF District 1 standings after Bridgeport Hope forfeited its game.
CCS, ranked No. 14 in the TCAF poll, is 8-1 overall. The team will close out its regular season next week against rival Weatherford Christian.
A win tonight in Paradise could improve the Millsap Bulldogs' playoff hopes. Millsap is currently in a four-way tie for second in the District 9-2A race,
