Former Lady Ram Flaska earns all-state tourney MVP award

AUSTIN – Former Mineral Wells Lady Rams guard Braylee Flaska, a senior now playing at Brock, was selected as the Class 2A state tournament Most Valuable Player after leading the Brock Lady Eagles to the 2012-13 state championship.

The Lady Eagles defeated Merkel, 40-32, Saturday in the 2A state championship game at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin as Flaska scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds in the title game.

Another former Lady Ram, senior Cora Jenkins, was also selected to the all-state tournament team. Jenkins led the Lady Eagles with 13 points in Brock’s state semifinals win over Centerville.

It was the fifth consecutive state championship for the Lady Eagles.
