Lawrence pleased with Rams’ first scrimmage

It really wasn’t about points on the scoreboard for Mineral Wells head coach Chuck Lawrence and his coaching staff Friday night when the Rams traveled to Decatur to scrimmage the Eagles.

The coach and staff wanted to see fire in the eyes of their players, and the players were eager to hit someone other than teammates in the first practice game of the 20112 season.

Although Decatur won the “timed quarter” portion of the scrimmage, 7-0, the Rams showed they could move the ball on offense and play solid defense.
