Rams travel to Decatur today for scrimmage

By TONY EIERDAM | sports@mineralwellsindex.com

It may be listed only as a practice game, but for the Mineral Wells Rams football team it is a chance to hit different-colored jerseys.

The Rams will travel to Decatur to scrimmage the Eagles today, with the freshman and junior varsity squads hitting the field at 7 p.m. at Eagle Stadium.

The varsity practice game will begin shortly after 8:15 p.m.

The format for the varsity contest will be for the first teams to run approximately 40 plays, with the number twos running about 30 plays, followed by a 12-minute “live” quarter to give the players a taste of simulated game action.
