SPRINGTOWN – It was a match for the taking.
Down 2-1 in games and 18-17 in game four, the Mineral Wells Lady Rams had a chance to defeat the No. 7-ranked team in the state here Tuesday in a District 6-3A match.
However, as in the first meeting between the Lady Rams and Springtown, the Lady Porcupines stepped it up at the net and came out on top with a 25-11, 24-26, 25-9, 25-18 victory.
The loss evens the Lady Rams’ district mark at 4-4, while with the win Springtown earned the league championship as it raised its record to 8-0.
