LIPAN - State-ranked No. 1 Lipan held off a late Mineral Wells charge as the Lady Indians defeated the Lady Rams, 56-46, Tuesday night in the basketball season opener for both teams at the sparkling new Lipan High School gym.
Lady Rams senior post Sydney Shelstead recorded the game's only double double with a game-high 25 points and 13 rebounds.
Post Shauna Coleman led Lipan with 20 points and seven rebounds.
