Rams fall to Bulls

MINERAL WELLS — STAFF REPORTS

BRIDGEPORT – Bridgeport jumped out to a 17-7 lead and never looked back as the Bulls defeated the Mineral Wells Rams, 54-40, here Friday night in a non-district game.

The loss drops the Rams to 10-11. The Rams will play next at 8 p.m. Tuesday at home against Burkburnett.

DaShawn Hicks led the Rams with eight points, with Ty Ashley and Ricky Scott each adding seven.

Also scoring for the Rams were Reece Tarver with five points, Biren Clardy with four, A.J. Williams and Jacoby Prestwood, each with three, Juvaree Sutton with two and Nick Wendt with one.

Bridgeport led 17-7 after the first quarter and 28-24 at the half.

The Bulls outscored the Rams 15-6 in the third period to take a 43-30 lead into the fourth quarter.
