Rams fall at Burleson Centennial

BURLESON – Burleson Centennial outlasted the Mineral Wells Rams, 64-58, here Tuesday night in a boys’ non-district basketball game.

The loss drops the Rams to 8-6. The Rams will play next at 8 p.m. Friday at home against Trophy Club Byron Nelson.

Mineral Wells senior post Ricky Scott led the Rams with 23 points, with senior post A.J. Williams adding 13 and junior guard DaShawn Hicks finishing with 12.

Also scoring for the Rams were sophomore guard Biren Clardy with seven points and senior forward Ty Ashley with three.

Centennial took a 17-14 lead after the opening period and built a 32-24 lead at the half.

Centennial scored 18 points in the third period while holding MWHS to 14 to take a 50-38 lead into the fourth quarter.
