LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following the final selection trial for the United States Eventing Team in Canada last weekend, Clark Montgomery has been short-listed for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Montgomery, 31, is the son of Mark and Carol Clark Montgomery, director of Clark Gardens Botanical Park, and grandson of Clark Gardens’ founders Max and Billie Clark. His riding roots began locally, on his uncle’s Palo Pinto County ranch.
On Monday, he and Loughan Glen – a 9-year-old Irish Sport Horse owned by Holly Becker, of Dallas, Kathryn Kraft and Jessica Montgomery – made the U.S. Equestrian Federation’s Olympic short list after placing third at last weekend’s 2012 Bromont International CCI three-star event, in Bromont, Quebec.
