Lady Rams win bi-district championship

MWHS ladies run past Vernon, 67-44

OLNEY - Niya Benavides scored 19 points and three other Mineral Wells ladies reached double figures in scoring as the Lady Rams defeated the Vernon Lady Lions, 67-44, here Tuesday night in a Class 3A, Region I bi-district playoff basketball game.

The Lady Rams will advance to the area championship game and face Liberty Hill, the District 8-3A champion.

Date, time and place of the area championship game will be announced later. Check this site beginning Wednesday for playoff information.

Bethany Allen (13 points), Natalie Ragland (12 points) and Sydney Shelstead (11 points) also scored in double figures, with Shelstead pulling down a game-high 16 rebounds.
