Tabi Santibanez scored 26 points to lead the Mineral Wells Lady Rams junior varsity to a 84-11 victory over Diamond Hill Tuesday at the MWHS gym in a District 6-3A contest.
The win keeps the Lady Rams in first place in 6-3A with an unblemished 8-0 record.
Also scoring for the Lady Rams were Bre Hinojos with 11 points, Addi Singleton with 10, Scarlett Eaton, Grace Baeza, Mason Malone and Rachel Merritt, each with six, Kaleigh Aaron and Mariah Shuffield, each with four, Kera Harrison with three and Carson Couger with two.
Paced by 18 points from Santibanez, the Lady Rams led 32-0 after the opening period. MWHS scored 19 points in the second period to take a 51-5 lead at the half. The Lady Rams outscored Diamond Hill 16-2 in the third period to take a 67-7 lead into the fourth quarter.
Rams JV back in win column
Coy Barrick scored 10 points to lead the Mineral Wells Rams junior varsity to a 64-39 victory over Diamond Hill Tuesday in a District 6-3A contest at the MWHS gym.
The win evens the Rams’ district mark at 3-3.
Also scoring for the Rams were Mark Glover and Dalton Mitchell, each with eight points, Dexter Cross with seven, Maceo Williams with six, Braxton Allen, Devon Edmond, Barden Hamilton and Justin Hendrickson, each with five, Tanner Newsom with three and Conner Bradshaw with two.
The Rams led 14-2 after the opening period and built a 28-12 advantage at the half. The Rams outscored Diamond Hill 19-8 in the third period to take a 47-20 lead into the fourth quarter.
Johnson leads Rams frosh to win
Marvin Johnson scored 16 points to lead the Mineral Wells Rams freshman team to a 68-20 victory over Diamond Hill Tuesday at the MWHS gym in a District 6-3A contest.
The win raises the Rams district record to 5-1.
Also scoring for the Rams were Lamont Wilson and Matthew Lawhon, each with nine points, Keith Stafford with eight, Alec Ortiz and Z Beard, each with five, Brandon Sanchez, Nigel Benavides and Connor Jacobson, each with four, and Aaron Cedillo and Tristan Seargeant, each with two.
The Rams led 15-5 after the opening period and built a 31-14 lead at the half.
The Rams went on a 23-4 run in the third period to take a 54-18 lead into the fourth quarter.
