SPRINGTOWN - Springtown broke open a close game with two quick third-quarter touchdowns as the Porcupines defeated the Mineral Wells Rams, 47-6, here Friday night in a District 6-3A football game.
The loss drops the Rams to 5-4, and 2-2 in district play, while the Porcupines run their 6-3A mark to 3-1.
With Springtown leading 13-6, the Porcupines ran back the opening kickoff of the second-half for a touchdown, then recovered a fumble at the MWHS 2 on the ensuing kickoff, scoring on the next play.
The Porcupines followed with 20 unanswered points to seal the win.
