— In six man state quarterfinal playoff football, the Gordon Longhorns ran past Santa Anna, 70-35, while the Strawn Greyhounds outlasted Newcastle, 52-42.
Strawn will advance to the Division II state seminfinals against state-ranked No. 2 Richland Springs. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Hico.
Gordon advances to the Divison I state semifinals and will play Abbott. Date, time and location TBA.
