DE LEON – Jacqueline Berumen scored 21 points, all on three-point baskets, and Jayde Price added 19 to lead the Strawn Lady Hounds to a 63-52 victory over De Leon here Tuesday night.
Berumen also led the team with six steals, while Price pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.
Also scoring for Strawn (6-3) were Shelly Abbott with 10 points, Cori Pollock and Tearany Atkins, each with six, and Cidney Pollock with one.
Abbott, Cori Pollock and Cidney Pollock each registered six assists to lead the Lady Hounds.
Santo stifles Lingleville
SANTO – Santo jumped out to an 18-4 first-quarter lead and never looked back as the Ladycats defeated Lingleville, 54-15, here Tuesday night.
Santo (7-0) held Lingleville scoreless in the third period and allowed single digits in the other three quarters.
Sarah Van Remmen led the Ladycats with 13 points, with Alyssa McKennon adding nine.
Also scoring for Santo were Payton Billue with eight points, Courtney Flanagan and Taylor Nemeth, each with six, and Kristy Trammell, Chloe McGlaun and Megan MacPherson, each with four.
Graford girls win
GRAFORD – On Monday, Sydney Wimberly scored 16 points and Tyler Wimberly added 14 as the pair led the Graford Lady Rabbits to a 41-40 win over Henrietta.
“I really liked the way we started the game, but their pressure defense took a lot out of us in the second half,” Lady Rabbits head coach Jarod Westmoreland said. “We kept being aggressive, and free-throw shooting helped us at the end.”
Also scoring for the Lady Rabbits (4-3) were Katie Rochelle and Erika Chemello, each with four points, Morgan Hendershott with two and Ali Brown with one.
Hendershott led GHS with nine rebounds, with Sydney Wimberly adding four boards.
Tyler Wimberly recorded a team-high four steals.
