Rams tied for second place after win over Porcupines

Springtown secures second seed with victory over Lady Rams

MINERAL WELLS — Ty Ashley, Ricky Scott and Biren Clardy hit key free throws down the stretch and DaShawn Hicks nailed a critical jumper as the quartet lifted the Mineral Wells Rams to a 52-46 victory over Springtown Friday night in a District 6-3A contest at the MWHS gym.

The win raises the Rams' district record to 5-2 as MWHS and Springtown are tied for second place in 6-3A.

Before the boys' game, the Springtown Lady Porcupines wrapped up second place in 6-3A with a 54-42 win over the Mineral Wells Lady Rams.

The Lady Rams fall to 6-3 in district play and have clinched third place and a playoff spot.

The MWHS teams will play next on Tuesday at Kennedale.
