CHICO – Sarah Van Remmen scored 19 points to lead the state-ranked No. 6 Santo Ladycats to a 71-11 win over Chico here Friday night in a District 11-A (Division I) contest.
Also scoring for Santo (24-4, 5-1) were Courtney Flanagan with 12 points, Taylor Nemeth with 10, Alyssa McKennon with nine, Breaana Raffaele with seven, Payton Billue with six, and Kristy Trammell and Chloe McGlaun, each with four.
Santo led 9-5 after the first quarter and 24-9 at the half. The Ladycats went on a 25-2 run in the third period to take a 49-11 lead into the fourth quarter.
No. 6 Lady Hounds run past Huckabay
STRAWN – Jayde Price scored 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the state-ranked No. 6 Strawn Lady Hounds to a 62-35 win over Huckabay here Friday night in a District 17-A (Division II) contest.
Also scoring for Strawn (24-4, 5-1) were Tearany Atkins with 12 points, Jacqueline Berumen with nine, Shelly Abbott with eight, Cori Pollock with three and Eva de Gregorio with two.
Abbott recorded a game-high 12 assists, and Berumen grabbed eight rebounds and had six steals.
Strawn led 16-11 after the first quarter and 30-17 at the half. The Lady Hounds outscored Chico 16-6 in the third period to take a 46-23 lead into the fourth quarter.
