Ground battle

Rams, Lake Worth to go after each other today with stout rushing attacks

It will be a battle of different styles of running with equal affect when the Mineral Wells Rams host the Lake Worth Bullfrogs at 7:30 p.m. today in a District 6-3A tilt at Ram Stadium.

The Rams (4-2, 1-0 in 6-3A) are riding a three-game winning streak in large part due to the explosive running of Gilbert Castorena, who has rushed for 780 of the Rams’ 915 yards on the ground the past three games.

The Bullfrogs (3-3, 1-0) return talented and big junior running back Tim Woods, a 250-pound bruising back who has rushed for almost eight yards a carry. Lake Worth is averaging almost 350 yards per game and 250 each contest on the ground.
