TCU now Mineral Wells’ ‘hometown team’ in Big 12

There is good news for college football fans, particularly fans of the Big 12, in these parts in 2012.

No longer will the football-following folks of Mineral Wells and surrounding areas have to drive 130 miles and more than two hours to Waco or twice as far as that to Austin to catch a glimpse of Big 12 action.

Nope, not now.

Thanks to TCU joining the Big 12 beginning this year, folks around here now have less than an hour’s drive to west Fort Worth to see their new Big 12 “hometown team,” the TCU Horned Frogs.
