A Bastrop High School athlete with Mineral Wells connections has been selected to play in the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl showcasing some of the top high school football players in the nation.
Antwuan Davis will join an elite group of 90 All-Americans selected to play in the nationally televised Jan. 5 game at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
Davis is a four-star prospect rated the No. 13 cornerback in the country by FOX Sports NEXT, according to the recruiting website Scout.com. He is verbally committed to play for the University of Texas.
His parents, Anthony C. Davis Jr. and LaSean Hockenhull, are both Mineral Wells High School graduates. Local grandparents are Anthony C. Davis Sr., Wanda S. Harley and Xenobia Harvey, and among his cousins are Donte Smith and A.J. Poole.
