Police officers’ group helps two local students get ready for school year

By CHRIS AGEE | cagee@mineralwellsindex.com

The Mineral Wells Police Department’s Benevolence Association recently helped two local students prepare for the upcoming school year.

In partnership with the Catholic Charities Wrap Around program, the association selected a local family in need of assistance.

MWPD Detective Darby Thomas and School Resource Officer Sherry Ford accompanied 5-year-old twins Tuff and Cheyenne McInnis on a recent trip to a local retailer to purchase back-to-school supplies, clothes and shoes.

Smart Looks, a local family hair salon, has also donated haircuts for the two students throughout the school year.
