Shoppers across the state will get some relief this weekend as the annual tax-free holiday exempts many purchases from state and local sales tax.
The incentive will last from Friday to Sunday and applies to most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks selling for under $100, according to online information from the state comptroller’s office. Restrictions and exemptions regarding the tax-free weekend can be found at texastaxholiday.org.
Local retailers are gearing up for the increased customer traffic that generally coincides with tax-free weekends.
